Some Clock(s) (2009)

“Time is money”, a seemingly antiquated saying in our unprecedented capitalist era, may provide a(n)(il)logical hope for the future, when time runs in an opposite direction. According to the US National Debt Clock, as of September 09, 2009 16:16, US National debt has accumulated $11,802,888,311

,519 and is counting up by the second. If we could turn back in time, so could the dollar numbers? Each “Some Clock” ticks backward. Can it be a cure to our economic wound?
“Some Clock(s)” is an installation made up of 6 retrofitted antique clocks by General Electric with a mirror. All set to run backward from 09:09 point on. Each clock is accompanied with an upside down reflection from the mirror. The physicality of each clock may be altered but the vision in mirror provides an inescapable reality with you in it. Time is still ticking forward when you see yourself with it.
