Tiffany Sum is a Los-Angeles-based interdisciplinary art monkey from Hong Kong. Toasting bread with your palms, finger-gun tracking your movement, compressing your body to form temporal sculpture, imprinting words with light as your eyes close — Tiffany retools technology to stage the audience to participate in her experimental fictional realities, which derive from films, paintings, cultural gestures, current affairs and/or natural phenomena. BA in Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong; MFA, Carnegie Mellon University. Sum’s works have been shown in United States, Europe, Japan, and China. Awarded the Best Interactive Work, RE/ACT Festival, Germany; finalist, 13th Hong Kong iFVA Festival; curated in ISEA – ZeroOne San Jose; eArts Festival, Shanghai; SIGGRAPH Asia, Japan; Luckman Gallery, Los Angeles; K11, Hong Kong.
